So I am finding that with the start of the semester, there isn't much to say since I spend most of my day in class and then the rest of it going back to the dorm, running errands, getting lunch, and doing chores. I need to spend at least part of the evening getting my readings done for the samurai class on Friday. With that in mind, I am only gonna mention a few things. Tomorrow I have the day off so maybe we'll see some adventure then.
Today will be just a small series of incidents I experienced today.
1) The train to my stop was extra crowded today. More so than usual. I ended up being sandwiched between two Japanese men. Something I never thought I'd say in any circumstance. >_>
2) At least they didn't smell.
3) English is explicitly prohibited in class and if you're caught speaking it, you have to put money into a small bank in the shape of a cat with a ridiculously large head. His name is Pakku-chan. When they told us this before classes started, I thought they were joking. -_-
4) I forgot to mention before that I got REALLY into the sumo matches while watching them. Making the noises of surprise and awe as each bout played out. So intense!
5) The weather is finally starting to cool down! I am done with sweating completely through my clothes the moment I step outside.
6) I seem to be the least Asian of all my dorm-mates here, despite being the only actual Asian in our group. I hate bean sprouts and anything pickled, I cross my chopsticks when I use them, I don't watch Korean dramas, and I can't solve a Rubix cube.
7) I mention the Rubix cube because Elisabeth can solve it in less than 2 minutes. She tried to teach me while we road the train home together. She was so proud of me when I was able to get the first layer done without her direct help. Maybe one day I can be a REAL Asian.
8) I found a beetle hanging out on my laundry today while it was drying. It was really cool and had this iridescent green color that the camera isn't really able to catch. (Sorry for any who are squeamish with bugs. Unless they are scorpions, roaches, or centipedes, I am cool with them.) For any who are curious, these are my pajama pants.
